21 Days Panchkarma Detoxification Treatment Course

Panchkarma is a traditional Ayurvedic detoxification treatment that involves five therapeutic procedures to help remove toxins and balance the body. The duration of Panchakarma can vary depending on the individual's needs, but a typical treatment lasts for 21 days. During the 21-day panchkarma treatment, you will receive various therapies and treatments such as Abhyanga (herbal oil massage), Shirodhara (warm oil poured on the forehead), Swedana (herbal steam bath), Basti (medicated enemas), Nasya (nasal drops), and more.

The first few days of the treatment involve preparing the body for the detoxification process. This includes consuming a special diet and undergoing therapies to loosen the toxins and bring them into the digestive tract. In the following days, various treatments are administered to help eliminate the toxins from the body. After completing the 21-day panchakarma treatment, it is important to continue following a healthy diet and lifestyle to maintain the benefits of the treatment. It is also recommended to avoid exposure to toxins, such as pollutants and chemicals, as much as possible to prevent a build-up of toxins in the body.

The schedule of a 21-day Panchakarma treatment can vary depending on the individual's needs and the Ayurvedic center where the treatment is being offered. However, here's a general outline of what a typical 21-day Panchakarma treatment schedule might look like:

Purva Karma

  • Snehana (herbal oil massage) and Swedana (herbal steam bath) to open up the channels and prepare the body for elimination of toxins.
Paschat Karma
  • Recommendations for a post-Panchakarma diet and lifestyle to maintain the benefits of the treatment
  • Follow-up consultations with the Ayurvedic Doctor to monitor progress and make further recommendations if necessary
  • Gentle yoga, meditation, and other practices to support the body and mind after the intensive detoxification process
Main Pradhan Karma Therapies
  • Basti (medicated enemas) to eliminate toxins from the colon and promote healthy bowel movements.
  • Nasya (nasal drops) to eliminate toxins from the head and neck region.
  • Virechana (purgation therapy) to eliminate toxins from the small intestine and promote healthy digestion.

It's important to note that this is just a general schedule and may vary depending on the individual's needs and the Ayurvedic center offering the treatment. The duration and intensity of each therapy may also vary depending on the individual's condition and response to the treatment.

yogic-food-at-yoganandham Our Doctors and chef carefully tailored a diet plan to support your unique constitution and the specific Panchakarma treatments you receive. Here's a closer look at the three essential meals offered during Panchakarma:
1. Sadvritta - Breakfast: Begin your day with a gentle and nurturing breakfast. Sadvritta, the morning meal, is designed to awaken your digestive fire without overburdening it. It includes options like warm herbal teas infused with ginger or cumin. For those permitted by their Ayurvedic practitioner, some fresh fruits, fresh fruit juice and a small serving of cooked oatmeal or rice porridge with delicate spices like ginger and cumin can provide sustenance. This breakfast sets the tone for a day of rejuvenation and detoxification.
2. Mridu Ahara - Lunch: Lunch is the most substantial meal of the day during Panchakarma. Mridu Ahara is all about nourishing your body with easily digestible, freshly prepared foods. A balanced meal may consist of grains like rice, complemented by cooked vegetables and lentils or mung dal. Ghee, a form of clarified butter, is commonly used for cooking and flavoring as it aids digestion and is well-tolerated. Incorporating digestive spices such as ginger, cumin, and coriander can enhance both flavor and wellness.

3. Sadvritta - Dinner: Dinner in the Panchakarma regimen is a lighter affair, designed to ensure a peaceful night's rest. Sadvritta consists of foods that are easily digested and are to be consumed at least 3-4 hours before bedtime. This may include light options such as vegetable soups, herbal teas, steamed Vegetables, seasoned with mild spices with 2 chapattis. A light dinner supports a restful night, allowing your body to recuperate and rejuvenate as you prepare for the next day's treatments.
